Note from the Trustees

The Trustee committee is charged with the care of the physical assets that are owned by the church. The floor to the roof and everything in between. In the last few years because of the generosity of the congregation over $200,000 has been raised and spent for updating and improving our church. Some these items include a new metal roof, new master air conditioner, new heating boiler, new energy efficient windows and small improvements to many to mention. The committee is comprised of Ward Merrell, chair, Frank Jessop, Bob Anderson, Rhonda Kimball, Ken Kwantes and Bruce Bennett. Please let any of us know of any questions or concerns.

Pastor Lee’s sermon, Powerful Convictions and Healthy Skepticism, is based on scriptures from Psalm 23 and Mark 9: 17-27. The choir will be singing “Hear the Lambs A Cryin’ ” and The Lord is my Shepherd. There will be a spaghetti dinner Sunday evening at 6:00 pm hosted by the youth of the church. Proceeds will be donated to One Great Hour of Sharing.
There are still baseball tickets available for the Cardinals game on Thursday, May 24.
Worship time is 9:45 am and nursery is provided.

This Sunday in celebration of Earth Day, Pastor Lee’s sermon “God Creates All Things New” is based on scriptures from Genesis 1: 1-31 and 1 John 3: 1-3. The choir will be singing “Christ is Made the Sure Foundation” and Blessing, Glory and Wisdom, and Thanks. Christian Education will be starting a new bible study Sunday at 11:00, Treading Lightly on God’s Creation. On Thursday, April 26, at 6:00 pm, there will be a special PJ and Book Night open to the public. Bring the kids in their PJ’s and we will read stories to them! On Sunday, April 29 at 6:00 pm there will be a spaghetti dinner sponsored by the Youth of the church. Donations from this meal will go to One Great Hour of Sharing. Join us in supporting the church’s young people.

Note from Personnel Committee

The session has the responsibility to provide for the administration of the programs of the church, including employment of ordained and non-ordained staff.  In our church, we have a 5-member committee, including 3 session members and 2 from the congregation at large.  Our duties include:

  • Recommending personnel policies to the session.
  • Presenting staff position descriptions and recommending changes to those job descriptions to the session as needed.
  • Acting as a support group for the pastor and staff.
  • Reviewing and recommending staff compensation packages to session.
  • Conferring with the pastor on any important issues of concern.
