God in the Rear-View Mirror – Bulletin and Announcements for October 22, 2023

Please join us for worship IN PERSON ONLY this Sunday at 9:45 am in the FELLOWSHIP HALL. Mary Kwantes will be preaching, “God in the Rear-View Mirror,” using Exodus 33:12-32.

Due to ongoing issues with the heat in the sanctuary, we will be worshipping in the fellowship hall. As for last week, the service will be recorded and uploaded later to YouTube, and a podcast of the sermon will be posted as usual. All indications are that we will be back to normal for October 29.

  • The preschool is having a Fall Family Fun Night on October 27. Talk with Nora or Leslie for more information.
  • If you signed up to bring in supplies for the blue buckets for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, they are due October 29.

Announcements:

  • This Sunday will conclude the Peace & Global Witness special offering. The Peace & Global Witness Offering encourages the church to cast off anxiety and fear, discord and division, and embrace our God’s mission of reconciliation to those around the corner and around the world.
  • There will be a picnic at Lions Club Pavilion #1 on September 30 at 5:00 pm. Hot dogs and water will be provided. Feel free to bring an item to share, your favorite drink, or meat to throw on the grill.
  • First Friday Out will be October 6, 5:30 pm, at DiTrapani’s. Contact Jonathan Kimball if you plan to attend.

Enjoy worship on the Seventeenth Sunday After Pentecost at First Presbyterian Church of Rolla with Rev. Bob Morrison preaching on “Life Is Not Fair.” Matthew 20:1-16 will center the message.

Announcements:

  • Choir is rehearsing Wednesdays at 7 pm, and also warms up Sundays at 9 am. If you are interested in participating, come to the sanctuary at those times.
  • The new alarm system is active. Contact the church office for details.
  • Christian education continues on Wednesdays at 6 pm. The lesson this week is on “David, For when others are trying to keep you down.”
