Continue to share stories and ideas with Mary Kwantes for inclusion in our 150th anniversary celebration.  We are still searching for old pictorial directories.  The Committee will honor 50+ year members at a special ceremony.  If you are or know of someone who meets this criteria, please contact Betti Jo in the office as she will maintain a master list.

There are still two Disaster Buckets to be filled and returned by August 4, 2013.

You may place your small bottles of Elmer’s school glue in a box in the hallway across from the office for the Back to School Fair on Wednesday, August 7.

There is a box on the entry desk where you may place your handwritten recipes for inclusion in the church cookbook.  Deadline is August 15th.  If you have any questions, please contact Fredi Zobrist or Carol Bennett.

150th Anniversary Celebration

Several activities are being planned throughout the year for the church’s 150th celebration.  Watch the bulletin, web and special mailings for information.

The committee is currently seeking names of members of the church for 50+ years and also veterans living or deceased you would like remembered.  They will be honored in a special ceremony.  If you are or know someone who is a long time member, please give your names to Betti Jo in the office.

We are still seeking old pictorial directories.

Our 150th anniversary is coming up May 15, 2014.  Activities will be planned throughout the year.  Please watch for information in the bulletin, on the web and through special mailings.

The Rolla Back to School Fair is scheduled for August 7.  Please drop your donation bottles of Elmer’s School Glue in the box in the hallway.  Monetary donations are also welcome.  The Mission Committee will be happy to shop for you.

We are still accepting donations of gently used tennis and casual shoes for the giveaway at Salem Avenue Baptist Church’s Shoe Closet on July 27th.

Disaster Buckets are still available to fill by August 1st.  Sign-up sheet is on the table across from the office.

A box has been placed in the hallway across from the office for placement of your bottles of Elmer’s School Glue for the Rolla Back to School Fair August 7, 2013.

July 13 is dinner at the Whitakers and then to see Neil Simon’s play “Fools”.  There are still a few slots available.  Sign-up sheet is in the hall across from the office.  If you need to carpool, meet at the church parking lot at 5:15 pm.

There is a tub in the foyer area where you may drop off your gently used tennis or casual shoes to be distributed on July 27th at Salem Avenue Baptist Church’s Shoe Closet.

We had a wonderful Block Party on the 29th with between 65 and 70 people in attendance…almost half were guests from our neighborhood.  If you care  to help defray the costs of the party, please indicate “Membership Block Party” on your check.  Your attendance, help, and support are all appreciated very much.  Special Big “Thank You” to those who canvassed; Bob May, Wendy and Michael Wilbanks, Eleanor Van Horn, and Jonathan Kimball.

Our block party will be June 29 from 4:30 – 6:30 pm.  Join us for food, fun, and fellowship.  The Heritage Boys will be here from 5 – 6 pm.  Bring your lawn chairs and join us on the church parking lot.

Our 150th anniversary is coming up May 15, 2014.  If you have ideas and stories to share, contact Mary Kwantes.  We are hunting pictorial directories from Wes Schlotzhaur and Larry Boutelle years.  We have copies of 1989 and 1975.  Any earlier copies would be greatly appreciated.

We are partnering with Salem Avenue Baptist Church to collect tennis and casual shoes for their Shoe Closet and distribution July 27.  A tub will be placed inside the foyer where you may put the shoes and they will pick them up each Wednesday until July 27th.

Vacation Bible School is this week, June 16 – 20 from 6 – 8 p.m. nightly.

The Board of the Presbyterian Women for next year’s officers will be co-moderators, Carol Bennett and Eleanor Van Horn and Mary Kwantes, treasurer.  Secretary position currently vacant.

Our block party will be June 29 in the church parking lot from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.  The Heritage Boys will play from 5 – 6 p.m.  Join us for grilled hot dogs, drinks, and games.

Rolla’s Open Art Show now at the Centre includes woven necklaces and pins by Louise Lyon (displayed in a glass case on the left as you enter the Centre.)

Scout Troop 83 will host Pizza Inn Fundraiser in Rolla on June 17, at 5:00 p.m.  Please support our scouts.
