This Second Sunday in Lent, we are celebrating Mr. Rogers Day (March 20). Susan Murray will be preaching, “Who Is My Neighbor” based on Luke 10: 25-37 and Matthew 22: 34-40.

Our Lenten book study, Turning Over Tables, continues Wednesdays at 6 pm

We will be filling our Easter Basket of Hope throughout Lent. These products will be divided among GRACE, Russell House and The Rolla Mission. This Sunday, we are collecting toilet paper, and next week will be laundry products.

Also during Lent we will be collecting monetary donations for One Great Hour of Sharing, which is one of the four PC(USA) Special Offerings. Each gift supports efforts to relieve hunger through the Presbyterian Hunger Program, promote development through the Presbyterian Committee on the Self-Development of People and assist in areas of disaster through Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. All three programs work in different ways to serve individuals and communities in need. Special envelopes will be placed on the table at the entrance of the church.

Our Lenten book study, Turning Over Tables, continues Wednesdays at 6 pm in the sanctuary. Please join us for a discussion of power in society as we remember the kind of Lord that we worship.

This Sunday, we remember and celebrate Jesus’s Transfiguration. Jonathan Kimball’s sermon, “Who Is Jesus?” will be based on Luke 9:28-36.

We will gather on March 5 at 5:45 pm in the sanctuary to commemorate Ash Wednesday. We will have a brief service that includes the imposition of ashes. Afterwards, we will begin our Lenten study based on Turning Over Tables. The study will continue Wednesdays at 6 pm throughout Lent.

Mark your calendars also for Maundy Thursday, April 17, 6 pm, in the chapel.

Our First Friday Out gathering will be at Frida’s on March 7 at 6 pm.

SOUPer Bowl! This Sunday is Super Bowl Sunday.  The teams playing are the KANSAS CITY CHIEFS and the philadelphia eagles.  You can show your support of your favorite team by contributing to the Souper Bowl.  There will be  soup pots near the entrance to the sanctuary.  The total amount collected will be given to GRACE.
