Announcements:

  • On August 24, we are hosting a Disc Golf Tournament at 9:30 am. It will be followed by an ice cream social at the fellowship hall at 11:00 am. Please join us! Open to disc golfers, congregation, preschool families, or anyone else who likes ice cream!
  • Chancel choir will begin rehearsal on Wednesday, August 28, at 7 pm. They will participate in worship starting September 8. All singers welcome!

Also this Sunday, we are hosting a John Calvin Presbytery event at 4:00 that will start with a commissioning service for Jonathan Kimball. Please join us as he becomes a commissioned ruling elder to lead our church. The service will be followed by an education time led by Paul Grier, “Discovering Joy through Grace, Gifts, and Generosity”. Register today if you plan to stay for the education time and optional dinner.

John Calvin Presbytery has responded to your question, ‘How will my church meet the challenges ahead?’ “Discovering Joy through Grace, Gifts, and Generosity”, an interactive educational event will be held after the Called Meeting of JCP to commission Jonathan Kimball as CRE.   • Mission and Outreach has decided to continue the crayon drive for the back to school fair. This will continue through July. There is a box for Crayola crayon 24 pack at the entrance to the sanctuary.
  • We will also be participating in GRACE for Kids, Christmas in July through the month of July. We were assigned toys for the littlest kids, zero to three years. There is a Christmas box at the entrance to the sanctuary.
  • First Friday Out will be August 2 at 5:30 pm at Los Arcos. Please let Javier know if you plan to join us for this fellowship opportunity by Sunday, July 27.

Announcements:

  • PC(USA) has four special offerings a year. We will be collecting for the Pentecost Offering. This special offering helps support ministries to young people and the needs of at-risk children. 40% of the Pentecost offering is retained by our congregations wanting to make an impact in the lives of young people in the Rolla community (upon Session approval CASA will receive that 40%) The remaining 60% is used to support ministries of the Presbyterian Mission Agency.
  • The Rolla Choral Arts Society Children’s Choir Una Voce and the Rolla Middle School Honor Choir will present a free concert, Monday, May 13, at 7:00 p.m. in our sanctuary. Please join us!

  • Game night tonight! Friday, May 3, 6:30 pm, in the fellowship hall. Bring a game and snack to share, or just show up!
  • We mourn the passing of Jean Day this past Tuesday. Tomorrow, May 4, there will be a visitation at 11:00 and memorial service at noon at James & Gahr Mortuary. Following the service, there will be a light lunch in the fellowship hall.
  • The Rolla Choral Arts Society and the 399th Army Band will be presenting “Songs of Freedom” at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at Waypoint United Methodist Church in Waynesville, and again on Monday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Leach Theatre Castleman Hall, Missouri S&T. Both concerts are FREE, however tickets are required. Tickets will be available after the service Sunday at fellowship.
  • Our Bible study, Bible Stories for Grown-Ups, continues Wednesdays at 6 pm in the sanctuary.
