The Reverend Lou Ellen Hartley invites everyone to join us for our Christmas cantata, Love Came Down at Christmas, an advent worship service inspired by the poetry of Christina Rossetti.  It will be presented under the direction of Jeff Sandquist, Music Director.

Worship begins at 9:45 am, followed by our church dinner in the Fellowship Hall.  Our church provides a Nursery during worship service.  First Presbyterian Church is located at 919 E. Tenth Street in Rolla.  Our website is www.rollapresby.org.

Our informal worship service, FIRED UP! is held Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Sadler Chapel.

Join us for Midday Prayers December 14 and 21 in the chapel at 11:30 am.  We will spend time reading scripture, praying, preparing our hearts to welcome the Christ child.  There will be opportunities to offer up our joys and concerns and to share with one another the deep meaning of this season.

The church office will be closed on Monday, December 26^th.

Mark your calendars to join us on December 18 to go caroling to the homebound at 6:00 pm; December 22 the Longest Night service in the chapel at 6:30 pm; December 24 Christmas Eve service at 5 pm in the sanctuary; and December 25 Christmas Day service at the Presbyterian Manor at 9:45 am.

Following the Cantata Sunday morning during worship we will have our church dinner in the fellowship hall.  The Presbyterian Women will provide the ham.  Please feel free to bring a covered dish or dessert to compliment the meat.

The title of Reverend Lou Ellen Hartley’s sermon for the week of December 04, 2016 is Prepare the Way based on scriptures from Malachi 3: 1-4 and Matthew 24: 36-44.  The hymns for Sunday are Prepare the Way; O Lord, How Shall I Meet You? and While We Are Waiting, Come.

A congregational meeting will be held this morning immediately following our worship service to vote on nominees for our officers beginning January 1, 2017.

Longest Night Worship Service will be on Thursday, December 22 at 6:30 pm in the chapel.  We recognize the holiday season can be filled with joy as well as grief.  The Longest Night service is designed to help those of us who need to open our hearts to the sadness we bear as well as to the comfort and healing we receive from God’s Holy Spirit.  Please join us for this special service of healing and wholeness.

Dinner will be at Colton’s at 6 p.m.  Please join us for an evening of fellowship.

Join us on Saturday, December 3rd in the Fellowship Hall.  Shopping will be from 8 am – 2 pm.  Lunch will be served by Circle V.
