Worship today (December 18) is ON! The trustees report that the parking lot is OK and the sidewalks are clear. Some back roads are still snow-covered, so use your best judgment, but we will be worshiping today, this fourth Sunday of Advent.
The title of Reverend Lou Ellen Hartley’s sermon for the week of December 18, 2016 is My Soul Cries Out based on scriptures from Psalm 146: 5-10 and Luke 1: 46b – 55f. The hymns for Sunday are Lift Up Your Heads, Ye Mighty Gates; Rejoice! Rejoice, Believers; My Soul Cries Out; and While We Are Waiting, Come.

Instead of our informal worship service, FIRED UP! Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Sadler Chapel we will holding our Longest Night service.
Join us for Midday Prayers December 21 in the chapel at 11:30 am. We will spend time reading scripture, praying, preparing our hearts to welcome the Christ child. There will be opportunities to offer up our joys and concerns and to share with one another the deep meaning of this season.
We will leave the church at 6 pm, December 18, to go caroling to the homebound in the neighborhood. Please join us.
Please join us for our Christmas Eve service at 5 pm in the sanctuary. Sunday, Christmas day service will be held at 9:45 am at the Presbyterian Manor in their community room.

Following the Cantata Sunday morning during worship we will have our church dinner in the fellowship hall. The Presbyterian Women will provide the ham. Please feel free to bring a covered dish or dessert to compliment the meat.

The Longest Night service is designed to help those of us who need to open our hearts to the sadness we bear as well as to the comfort and healing we receive from God’s Holy Spirit. Please join us for this special service of healing and wholeness.
