The title of Pastor John Oerter’s sermon for the week of January 18, 2015 is Here I am, Lord based on scriptures from 1 Samuel 3: 1-10, 19-20.  The hymns for Sunday are Here I Am, Lord; Oh Jesus, I Have Promised and Lord, Speak to Me.

Fired Up! will start five minutes earlier this week because of the Millikin Choir concert at First Baptist Church.

So that people may attend both FIRED UP! and the Millikin University Choir concert, FIRED UP! will begin early this week, at 6:25 p.m. on January 15. We will resume our normal schedule next week.

Below are details about the concert and a request for assistance providing cookies/brownies.

1. The Millikin University Choir will present a concert at 7 p.m. this Thursday, Jan. 15, at First Baptist Church, 801 N. Cedar St., in Rolla.

The choir, from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, will perform as part of its annual winter tour. A suggested donation to attend is $5 per person with all proceeds going to support the Millikin University Concert Choir tour.

2. The hosting organizations will have a reception for the audience and choir following the concert. We need your help! Anyone that would like to bring cookies or brownies for the reception would be much appreciated.

Cookies/brownies for the reception after the concert will go to the Ministry Center (next door to the church). Please deliver them on Thursday immediately prior to the concert.
