The title of Pastor John Oerter’s sermon for the week of April 13, 2014 is Nail it to the Cross based on scriptures from 2 Corinthians 5: 21 & I Peter 2:24.  The hymns for Sunday are Shout to the Lord; When I Survey the Wondrous Cross; and Beneath the Cross of Jesus.

Worship begins at 9:45 am, followed by education and fellowship at 11:00 a.m.  Our church provides a Nursery during worship service.  First Presbyterian Church is located at 919 E. Tenth Street in Rolla.  Our website is www.rollapresby.org.

John Calvin Presbytery PW Spring Gathering will be April 26th in Springfield.  Those interesting in attending can get information off the bulletin board or contact Eleanor Van Horn.

Progressive dinner will be Friday,  April 25, 2014.  Please sign up for the dinner on the list posted outside the church office.

We invite you to an open house for Betti Jo who is retiring on April 25, 2014.  The open house will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on April 24, 2014.

Christian Education is sponsoring an Easter Egg hunt for children ages 1-9 or so following Easter Worship.  Please contact Mary Kwantes if you want to help with fellowship food or if you are expecting children as company that day.

Ignite Rolla – ecumenical youth event

Ignite Rolla, an ecumenical event created by the youth of First United Methodist Church for the Rolla community, will be held on Easter Saturday evening April 19th starting at 7:00 p.m. at Lions Club Park Pavilion #7 and the fire pit.  Gather with fellow followers of Jesus Christ to worship God and ignite each other’s’ faiths.  The Youth Praise Band, Endless Trinity, will be playing and preparing you for Christ’s resurrection.  Bring your lawn chair, bring a friend, and enjoy fellowship to include s’mores and great praise!

Events this week are:  Town Hall Meeting at 11:00 am on Sunday following worship, PAL will meet for lunch on Monday at 11:45 at Los Cazadores Restaurant and final Lenten Luncheon will be Thursday at 11:45 with Pastor John Oerter as our speaker.

Office Manager – Job Opening

First Presbyterian Church of Rolla is seeking a part-time Office Manager.  Salary range is $12-$14/hr.  Consult the OFFICE MANAGER Job Description for details.

The purpose of this position is to maintain church records, manage accounts, and provide clerical/secretarial support for the congregation, pastor, and committees.  Extensive computer and people skills are required.

Minimum Qualifications:  High school diploma or GED; supplemented by three years of experience in clerical, secretarial, or paralegal work; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requested skills and abilities for this job.
