This Trinity Sunday, Susan Murray will be preaching on John 3: 1-17 as we worship in the sanctuary at 9:45 am. Also, this will be the last Sunday for the Chancel Choir to participate in leading worship through song.

This Sunday will wrap up our Pentecost Special Offering that benefits young people and the needs of at-risk children.

Congregational Life has several upcoming events:

  • June 2, 11:30 am: bring-your-own picnic lunch at Veterans Memorial Park.
  • June 7, 5:30 pm: First Friday Out at Koi (make reservations with Javier by June 2).
  • June 29: Springfield Cardinals game (make reservations with Javier by June 2).
  • July 19, 6 pm: carry-in dinner in advance of the Ozark Actors Theatre production of Clue at 7:30 pm.

We are collecting the Pentecost special offering, which helps support ministries to young people and the needs of at-risk children. The collection is split 60% to the Presbyterian Mission Agency and 40% to services in Rolla.

Announcements:

  • PC(USA) has four special offerings a year. We will be collecting for the Pentecost Offering. This special offering helps support ministries to young people and the needs of at-risk children. 40% of the Pentecost offering is retained by our congregations wanting to make an impact in the lives of young people in the Rolla community (upon Session approval CASA will receive that 40%) The remaining 60% is used to support ministries of the Presbyterian Mission Agency.
  • The Rolla Choral Arts Society Children’s Choir Una Voce and the Rolla Middle School Honor Choir will present a free concert, Monday, May 13, at 7:00 p.m. in our sanctuary. Please join us!

Announcements:

  • Game night tonight! Friday, May 3, 6:30 pm, in the fellowship hall. Bring a game and snack to share, or just show up!
  • We mourn the passing of Jean Day this past Tuesday. Tomorrow, May 4, there will be a visitation at 11:00 and memorial service at noon at James & Gahr Mortuary. Following the service, there will be a light lunch in the fellowship hall.
  • The Rolla Choral Arts Society and the 399th Army Band will be presenting “Songs of Freedom” at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at Waypoint United Methodist Church in Waynesville, and again on Monday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Leach Theatre Castleman Hall, Missouri S&T. Both concerts are FREE, however tickets are required. Tickets will be available after the service Sunday at fellowship.
  • Our Bible study, Bible Stories for Grown-Ups, continues Wednesdays at 6 pm in the sanctuary.
